You Are Not Too Much: Your Worth in God’s Eyes
Have you ever gotten the quiet message, somewhere along the way, that you are too much? Too sensitive, too emotional, too needy, too loud, too intense. And so you learned to shrink. To soften yourself down to a size that would not bother anyone. If that is a wound you carry, this is for you.
Here is the cruel trick of it: we usually feel like we are too much and not enough at the very same time. Too much to be fully loved, not enough to be truly valuable. Both of those are lies, and I want to hold them up next to what God actually says about you.
What God Says About Your Worth
Psalm 139:14 says you are fearfully and wonderfully made, not accidentally, not as a problem to be managed. Zephaniah 3:17 says God does not just tolerate you, He delights over you with singing. Sit with that one. The God of the universe is not sighing at you. He is singing.
Ephesians 2:10 calls you His handiwork, His workmanship, made on purpose for good things. And 1 Samuel 16:7 is the reminder that while people judge the surface, God looks at the heart, the real you underneath all the shrinking.
You Do Not Have to Earn It
The exhausting part of feeling like too much is believing your worth is something you have to keep qualifying for. Romans 8:38-39 closes that door for good: nothing, not your failures, not your big feelings, not your worst day, can separate you from the love of God. Your worth was never up for debate.
If you are ready to actually practice speaking to yourself the way God does, instead of the harsh inner voice you are used to, my Self-Compassion worksheets were made to gently retrain that.
A Short Prayer for the Woman Who Feels Like Too Much
Lord, I am so tired of making myself smaller. Thank You that You call me wonderfully made, that You delight over me instead of merely putting up with me. Help me believe I am not too much for You, and never have been. Let me stop shrinking and start resting in that. Amen.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the Bible say about my worth as a woman?
Scripture affirms deep, unearned worth. Psalm 139:14 calls you fearfully and wonderfully made, Zephaniah 3:17 says God delights over you with singing, and Ephesians 2:10 calls you His handiwork, created on purpose.
How do I stop feeling like I am too much?
Begin by naming the lie for what it is, then replace it with what God actually says about you. Verses like Romans 8:38-39 remind you that nothing can separate you from His love, so your worth is not something you must keep earning.
Does God love me even when I feel like a burden?
Yes. God is described as delighting over you, not tolerating you. Feeling like a burden is a wound, not a verdict, and Scripture consistently points to a love that is steady and unconditional.
