Bible Verses for When You Feel Alone: You Are Not as Alone as You Feel
Hey friend.
Loneliness is a sneaky kind of ache, isn’t it? It is not always the empty-house kind. Sometimes it is the loneliest right in the middle of a full room.
A phone full of contacts and no one you could actually call at 11pm. A church pew surrounded by people who do not really know you. A marriage, even, where you still feel unseen.
If that is you today, I want you to hear this before anything else. You are not actually alone, even when you feel it all the way down to your bones.
Feeling alone and being alone are not the same thing
Here is something worth sitting with. Loneliness is a feeling, and feelings are real, but they are not always reporters of the truth.
It is like being in a dark room you have lived in for years. It FEELS empty. But if someone flips the light on, you realize Someone was sitting right there with you the whole time. You just could not see Him in the dark.
God does not wait for you to feel His presence to be present. He is already in the room, friend.

Read these slow. Let them be the light switch. Click through to sit with each one.
Deuteronomy 31:6 promises He will never leave you nor forsake you. Never is a strong word. It does not have exceptions for your worst days or your most unlovable moments.
Psalm 139:7-10 asks where could I go from Your presence. The answer is nowhere. There is no corner of your loneliness He cannot already reach.
Isaiah 41:10 is God saying do not fear, for I am with you. Not I will send help. I am with you, Myself, in person.
Matthew 28:20 is Jesus promising I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Even on the Tuesday nights nobody texts back, He is still there.
Psalm 34:18 says the Lord is close to the brokenhearted. Your lonely heart does not push Him away. It draws Him in closer.
Psalm 68:6 says God sets the lonely in families. He is not only with you, He is in the business of bringing you people too. Keep your eyes open for them.
When the loneliness is loudest at the holidays
If you are reading this heading into the holidays, that ache can get louder. Everyone looks like they have somewhere warm to be, and you are counting the days.
Be gentle with yourself. Reach out first, even when it feels awkward. Most people are lonelier than they let on, and your text might be the light switch in someone else’s dark room too.
Loneliness can wear a heart thin. You were never meant to carry it alone.
